Salt Hill Galway - 2010-06-14

Yes its been ages since I've uploaded anything to the photoblog so I'm going to try start updating again.

I was up in Salt Hill Galway over the weekend and I always wanted to get a picture of the diving boards, unfortunately this is far from the photo I wanted and had in mind, however I coudn't get the one I wanted as there was a good few people in and out diving....oh well perhaps I'll get the photo on my next visit.

  • Love this - doesnt look like too many people were braving the water there this day.I reminds me of the only experience I had there. thought i'd share..

    The last time I was here there were guys doing backflips of the top board. I figured ... "yeah, i could do that.." so i confidently strolled through the crowds right up to the top board {of course without working my way up from the smaller boards} I stood there atop the board plotting my triumphant jump, until I simultaneously noticed how high it was and also how large a crowd had now formed to watch me. I then realised I had never done a backflip (not even in a video game) and decided a front flip would be suitable for this first jump. So after a few false starts I ran and jumped off soaring gracefully into the air. However, I completely fluffed the front flip and did more of a half turn into an almighty back-flop. That was the last time I jumped off there....
    Emerge from water with sore back and rapturous laughter..
